Job Specification: Composite Manufacturing Engineer
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Composite Manufacturing Engineer to join our client, a market leader in Europe for satellite solar panel substrates and other aircraft, launcher and satellite applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing processes for composite manufacturing within Aerospace projects. The business
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for composite materials, with a focus on efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Create and optimize tooling designs for composite manufacturing, ensuring they meet the required specifications and standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks during the design and production phases, implementing appropriate measures to ensure product quality and safety.
- Stimulate and support continuous improvements in manufacturing processes, resulting in enhanced productivity and reduced cycle times.
- Standardize processes across different projects and manufacturing sites, promoting best practices and ensuring consistent quality output.
- Generate comprehensive and accurate documentation, including reports, process flows, and work instructions, to support the manufacturing process and facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Assist in the acquisition phase by evaluating technical aspects, providing technical expertise, and supporting decision-making processes.
- Manage technical requirements throughout the manufacturing lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in composite manufacturing, including the design and development of manufacturing processes and tooling.
- In-depth knowledge of composite materials, their properties, and associated manufacturing techniques.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and the ability to identify and mitigate risks during the design and production phases.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives, implement process enhancements, and standardize manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in generating clear and concise technical documentation, including reports, process flows, and work instructions.
- Experience in supporting the acquisition phase, evaluating technical aspects, and providing technical expertise during decision-making processes.
- Familiarity with managing technical requirements throughout the manufacturing lifecycle, including compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
