AV System Design Engineer

My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Design Engineer (SDE) to join their Sales Department. This senior technical support position is home-office based in Germany, with occasional travel as required. As an SDE, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Sales Department by contributing to the design and technical validation of large projects and initiatives for our customers in Germany.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Proactively assist sales managers, technical sales/account managers with extensive designs, tenders, and quotations.
• Offer guidance and recommendations to application engineers regarding their design efforts.
• Provide regular updates on the status of significant designs, tenders, and quotations to both sales and technical management.
• Actively assess the outcomes of all projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Collaborate with the product development team to communicate the need for new products or enhancements, essential for tender compliance or system design improvement.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and investigate requested information related to product specifications.
• Analyze competitive designs to inform our strategies.
• Offer insights on the efficiency of large project follow-ups.

Personal Responsibilities:

• Execute all advisory tasks at the highest level of expertise, akin to our company's Applications Engineers.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of the complete Company product line.
• Uphold certification across various product, test equipment, and technology areas.

Reporting Responsibilities:

• Provide daily progress reports for all large designs, tenders, and quotations through the designated system.
• Submit weekly written status reports for projects requiring attention from sales or technical management.
• Act swiftly and report immediately if immediate action is needed to ensure the continuity of large design, tender, and quotation follow-ups.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in both the German and English languages.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• A professional and amiable demeanor, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• A polished professional appearance.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering from an accredited college, university, or equivalent institution.
